1. Freedom, equality, sovereignty Chains that make us free are a kind of political association that joins us and keeps us free in the sense of ruling ourselves Liberals put self-interest at the heart of politics. All government representatives will fight The liberal democratic arrangement doesn't come close to making us free No one has rights that aren’t common to the community You can’t have political equality with social/economic inequality Genuine sovereignty of the people = freedom Sovereignty = The Supreme Power If people are the supreme power, they hold the capacity to rule themselves and remain free Idea that you obey a law you give to yourself = essence of human freedom o Crafting life in your own way Problems with existing freedom o Unfree because not self-regulation o All dependent on one another o Extreme inequality in society Rich and poor don’t share a way of life, they can’t come together

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
