Running head: THE CHARGE BACK PROBLEM 2 The Charge Back Problem The charge back problem arises when the customer refuses to pay after a purchase. The customer claims that someone else has made the purchase. The online charge back problem is prominent due to the theft and misuse of credit card or net banking information. This further is caused by malware and phishing. In this case, the thief makes purchases and uses the victim’s payment information. If the victim claims that he didn’t make the purchase and refuses to pay, the seller suffers from the charge back problem. In order to prevent this problem and to protect the customers and companies from such frauds, a number of methods, models and principles have been defined that all online businesses must or are advised to follow.
