Running head: EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES E-COMMERCE WEBSITE 2 Introduction This paper describes a business proposal for a new online business through an e- commerce website. The target audience of the website will be students. The company will provide the higher students with all the materials they need online at one place. The different types of calculator will be programmed to run online. The standalone desktop based educational software will also be sold. Besides, the company will sell the actual hardware material required for students in schools and colleges including stationery. The plan is to expand to also provide notes and online preparation of tests and exams. The study tips and time management tips will be an attraction for the customers. A unique feature provided by the website will be to save reminders online for assignments and exams etc. The students will be reminded of all these through e-mail, SMS and phone call, if they choose. The companies in competition with my company either provide only online calculators, or just sell stationery, or just homework help and exam preparation material, but not all at the same place. Combining all this at the same place, just like a single web portal for all the needs of the students is the plan of my business. Another strategy of mine is to expand this business by developing mobile apps giving access to these services. The website will earn from selling the stationery, software, books, educational CDs, educational games and mobile applications. For using the online materials and reminder service, there will be a subscription fees as these services cost to the company too. The payment can be made through PayPal or credit cards. More payment options will be added on the way along. This way, the website attracts students and earns through selling both products as well as services.

Running head: EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES E-COMMERCE WEBSITE 3 Revenue Models “A revenue model outlines how the organization or EC project will generate revenue” (Turban 2008, 20). The major part of revenue for Educational Resource website will come from sales. The website will sell educational products – hardware as well as software. The products will include simple calculators, scientific calculators, educational laptops, tablets etc. The software to be sold includes scientific calculator software, equation solvers and other software tools for physics and chemistry. The products will be displayed category-wise and for a comfortable purchase, price will be mentioned. In order to attract the customers and make them familiar with the software products, free or low cost trial software will be provided for certain software. This will increase the chances for purchase of the full version of the software. The website will also sell books, e-books, educational CDs, sample papers, practice notes etc.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
