Unformatted text preview: My Friday report is on Taco Bell stopping the use of Tran’s fats. Trans fats are fats used in cooking oils in many U.S. restaurants that are very unhealthy and are known to clog artery’s. They use the trans fats in cooking their shells, chips, potatoes and a few other items. Up to 15 items that use to contain trans fats no longer will have them and only a very few will have them on their menu. Many fast food restaurants are switching to this as a result of law suits based on obesity or just for being to unhealthy. KFC had a lawsuit against them but has since been dropped as a result of them changing to healthy cooking oil. Pizza hut who is also owned by the same company as KFC and Taco Bell switched too. McDonalds, the biggest fast food change ever, is also considering the change. They might also be forced to anyway. Organizations located mainly in Chicago and New York city are pushing a ban on trans fats because of how unhealthy they are, they say the avg. American eats 4.7 lbs of trans fats which will almost certainly can lead to heart problems or heart diseases. problems or heart diseases....
