Planets Around Other StarsIn 1995, the first planet orbiting around another(normal) star was discovered: 51 Pegasi b“Extrasolar Planet” or “Exoplanet:” a planet orbiting astar that is not the Sun.Planet formation is very closely linked to starformation.Since the first discoveries, hundreds of planets have beenfound around other stars.Planets seem to be common!5
