Brandon Ciolfi History 3000 Genesis 1-2 1) Genesis states two accounts as if it was written by two different people. The first one starts out with the creation of the heaven and the earth and the main focus is on God's creation of the overall universe, and ALL forms of life. While the second account begins with the making of the heavens and the earth and the main focus is on God's deeply personal involvement with those whom He created in His own image which is the human race. 2) In comparing day 1 with day 4, in day 1 light & dark, day & light were created and in day 4 the sun, moon, and stars are created. In day 2 waters above and below are made and in day 5 the birds and sea animals are made. In day 3 the dry land is created and in day 6 land animals are put on the earth. In The Epic of Gilgamesh and in the lives of the Mesopotamian the gods where portrayed as self-serving arrogant beings. The Genesis God, on the other hand, was without gender, and more importantly, was a God that had compassion for the human race. The Mesopotamians, though, living with harsh conditions, blamed this
