Valerie Henderson “A Small Place” Reflection The story is about tourists and how when you are on vacation you are so thrilled to be in the beautiful place you are visiting that you do not stop to think about what life is like for people who live in this place. On vacation, you are in a better mood and so you do not think of the dirt roads making the ride bumpy and uncomfortable, but that they make the ride more interesting and you feel like you are far away from home and ready to explore a completely new place you have never been before. You do not stop to think about why some houses are huge and others look like small huts compared to them. You do not think about how the government there owns the car dealerships and that is why people drive around in new cars but live in cheap houses because it is easier to get a loan on a car as it is in the government’s best interest to sell more cars. The end of the story goes more into how you change as a person when you are a tourist. The end talks about
