1. “ We seem to think that we can substitute an irreplaceable and irretrievable beauty with
something which we have created ourselves. ”
As our economy continues to grow and production increases, humans are continuously
plundering the natural resources available to us. It fails to consider that the Earth will eventually
deplete its resources if not properly administered. The economy is much focused on gaining profit
whilst ignoring the damages it has caused on nature. However, it is important to remember that the
cost of damage caused by such selfishness and lack of concern is much greater than the economic
benefits to be obtained. Human intervention in the service of business interests, technological
advances, and consumerism is without a doubt making the earth less rich and beautiful. Every
country must ensure that the government must carry out its proper and inalienable responsibility
to preserve in its respective environment and natural resources.
2. “The gravest effects of all attacks on the environment are suffered by the poorest”
As the deterioration of nature is closely connected to the culture which shapes human coexistence,
both human and natural environment deteriorate together, which affects the most vulnerable
people. Moreover, this is aggravated by the fact that those in the center of power are succumbed to
