Thiscourse is designed for allied health majors.PREREQUISITE:BIO110CREDITS:3 cr.REQUIREDMATERIALS(CHECKBOOKSTORE FORLATESTEDITION):Click on the bookstore for the supplies which you are attending each class.Rcbc.edu/bookstoreCOURSELEARNINGOUTCOMES:Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:Explain the structure of the heart, blood vessels, and blood and identify majorvessels and interpret blood typing results.Describe the anatomy of the respiratory system and its physiology, particularly inrelation to various gas laws.Demonstrate an understanding of the structures of the urinary system and theirspecific roles in the filtration of blood.Describe homeostasis and its relationship to fluids, electrolytes and acid-basebalance.Identify the structures of the digestive system and each of their roles in both themechanical and enzymatic digestion of food.Describe the functions of the various hormones released from endocrine glands inthe body.Summarize the anatomy and function of the male and female reproductivesystems.Solve the following types of genetics problems utilizing the Punnett square:dominant-recessive, co-dominant, and sex-linked.
