Prelab for Chemistry 111: Experiment 8- Triazine Elisa Laboratory Mindy McDuffie Statement of Problem Atriazine is a commonly used element in herbicides throughout the United States. Approximately ninety million pounds a year are spread throughout the United States to fight weeds in corn, sorghum, and sugar cane fields. These herbicides are common contaminants of water and other essential resources. The EPA has considered banning this herbicide; however, banning it would have drastic effects on many people and the cost would be hundreds of millions of dollars each year.
