The main formula is P= (V0/ R0+RL)2RL, which is the power dissipated by the load resistor. To find values of power, the formula used is P= I * V. The PLmax for 100 ohms obtained was 1227.0 with Pgencalculated as 0.0023. The PLmax for 200 ohms obtained was 1086.00 with Pgen6.116 e-4. The Vexwas 9.833 and Rexwith the percent error being 1.67% and 1.4% respectively at 100 R0. Possible error that could have occurred can be caused by improper set up of the apparatus or collecting data incorrectly. Objective:
In this experiment, students will be able to understand and determine the load resistance (RL) value at which power is optimized in a DC circuit. Procedure:First step in this experiment is to measure the initial resistance using the DMM within theOhms range. The lab instructor provided a figure that is to be use to set up the apparatus to
