However, these nurses face many barriers to their practice; hence they cannotfully exercise their expertise (Fealy et al., 2018). This article discusses three of the APNs barriersand their possible solutions.The first barrier to ANP is the hectic licensing process and other institutional and statelimitations to Nursing Practice. The State and other Nursing certifying Board have limited theANP, full practice authority, meaning they cannot evaluate, diagnose, recommend tests, interpretthe tests, and devise a treatment therapy for patients.
