TOPIC 1 In the case of age discrimination, it is a factor that has been around for centuries. Age discrimination has majorly been a problem in America today, concerning employment. Yet ever since the Age Discrimination of Employment (ADEA) of 1967, it has come to protect peoples of the young and old years. There are terms and conditions that apply to this act but has been a major benefactor in releasing the pressure toward the government of this debacle. As for where I stand on this issue, it is fairly simple. I of course believe is is unlawful and morally wrong to discriminate against people who are of young or old age. Yet by societies set standards today, they are acceptable, concerning what is best in “the specific age groups” best interest. For example, it is not age discrimination for the national drinking age to be 21. Yet, I do believe that is discrimination when someone the age of 16 or 17 loses a job to a older person when it is clearly apparent that the younger person my have more knowledge of the subject or occupation overall.
