Bailey Eubanks English 1302 September, 27 2007 Mr.Reiter Poem Evaluation: Pied Beauty: In this poem it talks mainly about praising God. “Glory be to God for dappled things,” then the poem goes into the things that God should be praised for. It mentions things of creation, such as animals, nature, people, and then emphasizes praise through emotions. It says “whatever is fickle, freckled, who knows how?” The poem is a combination of earthly things God can be accreted for and we should thank him for. This poem is a little to deep, with many hidden meanings where it is challenging for the reader to find the true passage behind the text. The author however, does use good imagery and alliteration saying “with swift, slow, sweet, sour, a dazzle, dim. You can understand that the reader is a believer and that he is trying to get across that thanking the Lord is of utmost importance. The use of many semi-colons is sometimes confusing for a novice and can confuse the reading tempo. Overall this poem is very insightful yet also
