Bailey Eubanks English 1302 Mr.Reiter October 10, 2007 Evaluating: The Exorcism of Emily Rose The Exorcism of Emily Rose directed by Scott Derrickson, was a thought provoking film. Based on a true story, a young girl by the name of Emily Rose is possessed by six demons. All of which have dwelt within famous historical figures from the past, including Judas, Nero, and Cain. Needless to say it was none other than the devil in the flesh. After the death of Emily, her family’s priest, Father Moore, is put to trial under the fault of neglecting Emily in the duration that he was trying to heal her by spiritual means. Erin Bruner, a famous defendant from the past “Van Hopper” trial, is put on the case in defending Father Moore. Being a woman of no faith she finds herself apt to being more open when she falls victim to the demonic spirits. Emily’s story was one to provoke the question “How can no one believe in the father when I show them the devil (CITE THIS).” This was the main point Father Moore tries to make during the trial, it
