Exam Review 01/20/2012 FINAL EXAM: April 14 th , 2012 North Campus Building 113 7pm-10pm *Arrive at least 15 minutes early PART 1: Compare and Contrast Slides Provide the name, date, title, and medium for the provided images. Art Historical Context (modern, postmodern, relation to the institution of art, e.g., museum, gallery of art  market) Socio-cultural context (which particular context does it speak to?) Significance/relation to popular culture (how is the artwork engaging with popular culture? How is the work  critical) INSTRUCTIONS: You will be given 3 sets of 2 slides (compare and contrast) 2 minutes each, 1 hour total Each answer should be about 1 page long  Brief description of the art work and provenance (name, date, title, medium); consideration of context  (social, political, economic, institutional, art historical) Reflection on how the works relate to each other (Do they oppose one another? How do they activate  critical concepts in relation to one another? You will need to identify why they have been placed side by  side) PART 2: Key Terms (Short Answer) INSTRUCTIONS: You will be given a list of key terms taken from this master list.  You will be expected to define 5 terms in short paragraph form  5 points each, 20 points total define the term (1-2 sentences) Discussthe use of the term in relation to art and culture (1-2 sentences) Provide an artistic/cultural example of the term (1-2 sentences)
