In Superhighway Scaremongers, Terence Corcoran points out that after going through every word in the official Montebello summit joint statement, as issued the day before by President Bush, Prime Minister Harper and President Calderon, there is no mention of a NAFTA Superhighway (FP17). This leads him to believe that such plans remain shrouded in secrecy and therefore still exist. (FP17) The NAFTA Superhighway was brought into the spotlight at pre-summit agitation sessions staged by Maude Barlow's Council of Canadians and others who see the summit as a front for a secret corporate agenda to merge Canada, Mexico and the United States into one big corporatist state.
