It is also a value system (how the social world should be) Old Idea: The Enthymeme (Aristotle) – a rhetorical syllogism; logic is implicit, based on common belief Why should we be concerned as media critics? – the power to misrepresent realities (the ability to see social alternatives to the status quo) More than just a pejorative label or accusation; its more than politics
