POETRY ESSAY " THE ROAD NOT TAKEN"2Poetry Essay "The Road not Taken"The works of Robert Frost in his famous poem “The Road Not Taken”, is strong with emotion, has a strong theme implied, symbolic representation, and a great rhythm pattern. Alliteration can be heard within the word choice carefully picked by Frost. In line, one and fourteen “yellow woods” and “knowing how” are perfect examples as the “w” sound makes alliteration present. Consonance is also present as the words “looked and could”, used in line four. Lastly, Assonance shows in line four with “looked and could” again as the same vowel sound demonstrates an assonance rhythm pattern. This poem demonstrates the journey of life anddecision making along the path you choose. The lessons behind your choices in life resemble thisyoung man seen throughout the poem as narrated who struggles with life choices, and direction. It describes a young man who is not quite sure with his decision, but in the end seems content as he reminisces on his life’s journey.
