Gabi IbarraENG 102 SEC: 0153/2/15Weight Gain in Female College Students What is causing female college students to gain weight in college? Stress? Anxiety? Cafeteria food? Recent research suggests that approximately 35% of all college students are overweight or obese, with many at risk for weight gain during the college years. 70% of college students will gain weight while in college. Why are these numbers so high and what is causing it? These are some of the things I am curious about and want to dig to find out what are the real causes.My first source is The Journal of Exercise Physiology published by the American Societyof Exercise Physiologists and written by Dr. Cynthia Ferrara.
