Gabi IbarraENG 102 SEC: 0153/2/15Weight Gain in Female College Students What is causing female college students to gain weight in college? Stress? Anxiety? Cafeteria food? Recent research suggests that approximately 35% of all college students are overweight or obese, with many at risk for weight gain during the college years. 70% of college students will gain weight while in college. Why are these numbers so high and what is causing it? These are some of the things I am curious about and want to dig to find out what are the real causes. Also I want to explore the infamous “Freshman 15” topic because I want to find the truth about it.My first source is The Journal of Exercise Physiology published by the American Societyof Exercise Physiologists and written by Dr. Cynthia Ferrara.
