Compare and Contrast essay Egypt and Mesopotamia By: Spencer Fields Mesopotamia and Egypt were two of the earliest civilization in world history .There were many similarities and differences in the impact of geography on the development of Mesopotamian and Egyptian civilization. Some similarities include both civilizations being dependent on the annual flooding as well as both countries being depending on the water for trade. However geography also impacted both of these areas differently such as their religions based on the flooding and how they viewed the gods. One similarity between the Mesopotamian and Egypt resulting from geographical influences include the reliance on the annual flooding of the rivers. Egyptians relied on the predictable flooding of the Nile River. Similarly the Mesopotamians relied on the flooding of both the Tigris and the Euphrates. Both civilizations depended on this flooding as these floods left behind rich silt full of nutrients needed for farming, like the Blacklands surrounding the Nile.
