Unformatted text preview: 1 Marcos Anchondo UNV-103 06/22/19 Shanna Huslig Personal Finance Basics Finances and money are an important thing in everyday life. We need it for food, transportation, school, and all life’s necessities. This week’s topic and course material was some of the most important information for life. It is important to get educated, but having a course that teaches life lessons like this are useful. The main idea we learned about finances is to make use successful students and adults in society. There were many useful tips that came out of this week to not put them to practice and be financially successful. Some tips that I found useful were planning a monthly budget, creating a “Wait and See” list, and using a calendar to plan monthly bills. My favorite and new financial tip that will help me in the coming months is creating a “Wait and See List”. I love the idea of waiting to buy something instead of just being “in the moment” and impulse buying. I have done this multiple time and have wasted money on things I do not need, so I will most definitely be using this new life skill. With that being said I would say impulse buying is one of my weaknesses that I need to work on and grow. I get caught up “in the moment” and will buy stuff without even thinking twice about it. I have much to grow in my finances and learning about this now and putting it to use at a young age will help me tremendously in the future. Speaking on my future, the career path I am going down opens up a lot of jobs that are well paying and will allow me to be financially stable on my own. I am currently going to school for marketing and 2 advertisement and would like to be a Sales Representative or a Marketing Manager, I am still not absolutely sure but I am still exploring the field. Reflecting on money and how to manage it correctly makes me realize how important it is to get in the habits of it at a young age and not waiting till I am older.
