Environmental Justice Over the last couple decades, there has been a dramatic change in the economy and the market system. More and more one sees issues involving a company going too far. This could be the cause of Neoliberalism. Neoliberalism is “the desire to intensify and expand the market”. This concept could go so far that in fact the ultimate goal of Neoliberalism is that “every action of every being is a market transaction.” (Trainer 7) This movement is dangerous due to the fact that one could see company’s trying to take over everyday things. This leads to large powerful monopolistic companies that have the power to control the market, and ultimately the people. Neoliberalism is dangerous because it is not just a plan of action or “economic structure, it is a philosophy.” (Trainer 9) One can see Neoliberalism in many aspects of market life, but one prominent sector is environmental justice. Chemical companies are known for polluting neighborhoods and taking away the culture and the community by buying out property and moving
