7th May 2020 Home Learning Plan Materials:device, learning journal, pencil, recyclable materials (as were listed on the bottom of weekly overview that was sent home via School Stream last Friday). Reminders:Don’t forget to take regular breaksfor meals, rest, physical exercise and toilet visits. Remember– it is very important to regularly wash your hands. Make sure that you have access to a water bottle while you are learning. Day Overview - Timetable SubjectTask Overview 9am - check in and roll marking via WebEx Family Innovation Time / Discovery30-45 MinsPractise 10-15 minutes of mindfulness with Smiling Mind Make your own invention – part 1 Maths30 minutes1.Revision of Trading in Subtraction 2.Doubling and halving Reading30 minutes Reading comprehension Writing30 minutes Advertising plan Physical30 minutes Your choice: -Family walk -bike or scooter ride (don’t forget your helmet) -Ball games in a local green space/backyard -Skipping with a rope (aim to build towards 100 forwards and 100 backwards) -Cosmic Kids yoga-Other (pick what suits you and your family’s needs for 30 minutes) Specialist30-45 minutes Mandarin 3pm - check in and reflection via WebEx Mindfulness– Please start each day by completing a Smiling Mind meditation. This will help get you in the right frame of mind for learning. There are 17 modules in this series that were created for children your age! Try to do one each day. To get the best out of meditation – find a quiet, comfortable space, close your eyes and use your headphones. Take note of how you feel before and after. What differences did you notice? Discuss your differences with another person in your household (adult, sibling or even a pet).
