According to David and David (2017), ” increased sales by improving or modifying present
products or services ” (p. 375). DeFeo (2020), “ The Juran Trilogy, also called Quality Trilogy,
was presented by Dr. Joseph M. Juran in 1986 as a means to manage for quality. The traditional
approach to quality at that time was based on quality control, but today, the Trilogy has become
the basis for most quality management best practices around the world ” (para. 1). Product
development is a process that should focus more on quality management. Quality plays a
significant role in product development as to where the customer always expects quality in the
product as that needs to be unique and differentiated. The product should satisfy the needs of the
customers with a high with low price strategy. The following are the elements that are needed
within each of the Juran Pillars to have a compelling product development process:
Quality Planning: Quality planning helps to target and identify the customers. The expectation
and needs of the customers can be determined. The product and service should satisfy the needs
of the customers.
