There are two reasons discipline is important; it allows for boundaries to beestablished to know what is and isn’t okay. The second reason is it allows us to show whathappens when inappropriate behavior does take place. Discipline is very important for classroomstructure because it keeps everyone safe and consistent every day. For this to work seamlessly,rules need to be clear and concise for the students. Chapter 5 focused on creating a positiveclassroom environment. For students to want to behave they need a teacher-student relationship.A classroom needs to be welcoming, accessible, understanding, and controlled. Students need aplace where they can be creative, succeed, fail, and work with others.Something that surprised me was the idea of having a relaxing part of the day. When I
