(b) Find the probability that of 7 enlistees, at most 2 will belong to class I and exactly 4 will belong to class II. (c) What major assumption are you making in (a) and (b)? Is it plausible? Why or why not? 2. Larsen & Marx pp. 498-499, Questions 10.2.8 and 10.2.9. 3. Larsen & Marx p. 508, Question 10.3.2 modified : (a) For the data given in L&M, using the Pearson chi square statistic, (i) compute the observed P -value; then perform the test (ii) at level α = 0.10 and (iii) at level α = 0.01. (b) Do the same for different data: zero whites were obtained 30 times; one white, 47 times; and two whites, 23 times. 4. Larsen & Marx p. 509, Question 10.3.8 modified : (a) For the data given in L&M, perform both (i) the test based on the Pearson chi square statistic and (ii) the GLRT, or generalized likelihood ratio test. (b) In the years from 1976 to 2010, the length of the World Series has been: 4 games in 8 years, 5 games in 7 years, 6 games in 10 years, and 7 games in 9 years. Add these results to the 1926-1975 data, and repeat (a) for the combined data from the years 1926-2010.
