Social functionalism is described as a complex system whereeveryone is obligated to meet certain needs of society. Sociologists apply this to families, eachperson within a family is meant to perform certain roles. These roles vary from caring for anindividual or providing financially. Families are like a working machine without one performinga task the family can not function the way it is supposed to.
