Pham 1 -1 Michael Pham WRC 1023.050 Professor Swellander February 5 th , 2008 I am an American and can dress like one The first amendment of the constitution enables every single individual in America to have freedom of religion, press, and speech, and also to peacefully protest. There are reasons that there is not an amendment giving us the freedom to wear what we want. It is because nobody ever believed they would need to fight for that right. Today, in schools around the nation an epidemic has spread in which the only cure is to restrict what children can wear. I believe this is the wrong standpoint, we must embrace different races and arm the children of tomorrow with the intelligence to not believe in hurting each other but helping each other and not only to better each other but better ourselves and we can start by allowing them to choose what they want to wear. There are many schools that insist on having extreme dress codes or even uniforms, due to the thought of allowing children to wear whatever they want will cause chaos. Chaos meaning that students will not be able to concentrate, due to being scared or just being distracted. The National Association of Elementary School Principals state that uniforms do not produce better schools, and when they tested schools with uniforms in the 10 th grade the students actually performed worse on the tests than schools without uniforms. They also showed that mandatory uniforms also did not reduce violence or solve any behavioral problems, and did not improve attendance or academics in schools.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
