DISCUSSION FORUM UNIT 2, SOCIOLOGYIdentify several examples of popular culture and describe how they inform larger cultures. Howprevalent is the effect of these examples in your day-to-day life? Popular culture is defined aspeople’s culture or the language that is popular in society at a given time. This popular culture is determined by the interactions and activities between people on theirday-to-day activities. Like the television, movies, the internet, dressing, and even the way theytalk. Fiske, (2010), saw the internet as simply another battlefield through which ongoingstruggles over, meaning, pleasure, knowledge, and power would be conducted. There is a lot ofthat teenagers are watching on the internet and ending up imitating what does not belong toour culture. It is believed that the early users of the net would transcend nation’s states to builda global international community of free people, who will spend most of their time sharingideas, spreading democracy and human rights, and creating more space for artists.
