Unformatted text preview: NaRhee Pak BUAD 304 Discussion 14728 November 7, 2007 Assignment #3 Question 3. A dysfunctional conflict is a conflict that hinders group performance. The second semester of my senior year, my math teacher assigned us a calculus project instead of a final. We got to choose our own group so I chose two of my friends that I was close with. The first week of the project went fine. We had fun working together and we spent class time socializing while working on the project. However, over the weekend my two friends got into an argument, which carried on for a couple of weeks. Now relationship conflicts —conflicts based on interpersonal relationships—were present in my group and the book mentions that these conflicts are almost always dysfunctional. My two friends did not want to work together. One of them almost asked the teacher to reassign her. Since the two did not want to work together it was extremely difficult to finish the project. We couldn’t get anything done. It came to a point was extremely difficult to finish the project....
