For this assignment you will choose two (2) images from contemporary visualculture—anything from social media and memes to contemporary art and photojournalism.Your paper will analyze these images, drawing comparisons and contrasts between elementssuch as form, iconography, and material, while also considering intent, circulation, reception,and use. The objective of this assignment is for students to take the tools learned in lecture anddiscussion and apply them to their own visual analysis.Your paper must have a clear and arguable thesis, making a claim about your two imagesconstruct meaning, effects, messages, impressions, or understandings. Analyzing the form andcontent of the images, provide specific evidence for your claim. Be sure to note how the imagesinteract with one another—explaining how and why they interact.
