GUTA: Company Description Getz United Talent Agency’s main business goal is to act as the middleman between both the media and general public to work on behalf of the creative and talented people in the entertainment industry. GUTA recognizes talent in many different categories; by using knowledge in marketing, promotions and public relations it knows what needs to be done in order to get its clients to the top of the success list. In order to stay up-to-date, GUTA makes an effort to meet with future individual clients to find out what type of talent they may need for their projects and connect the specific talent to them. GUTA also uses public relations and networking in order to promote its talent to interested clients. Starting a small independent talent agency in the middle of Hollywood along with many brand name talent corporations is very risky to undertake. However, GUTA realizes that there is no shortage of potential clients who want to make it big in the television and film industry. Therefore, in order for GUTA to be a successful and thriving business, much work is going to need to be done within the first couple of months such as meeting clients, future employers, and getting to know anyone who can help the agency make a name for itself in the ‘Tinsel Town’ world of entertainment. Although this is a very competitive industry, GUTA is a non-union agency, which means there are no rules or regulations as to how it can operate or be managed as an agency; however it must obey the by-laws and code of conduct for California state business requirements. GUTA will use its size to its advantage by helping develop 1

relationships on a more personal level with clients that will ultimately help create a prosperous and thriving environment for an overall success. GUTA: Description of Service Getz United Talent Agency’s main service is to offer representation to current and upcoming actors, writers, authors, producers, and directors primarily for film and television. GUTA acts as a middleman between the media and general public in order to work on behalf of the creative and talented people whom they represent. GUTA recognizes talent in many different categories; by using knowledge in marketing, promotions and public relations it knows what needs to be done in order to get its clients to the top of the success list. Although GUTA may have tough competition by the many large and well-known corporate agencies that are also in the area, it offers something that those big agencies can’t. GUTA creates a calm and less-stressful environment that differentiates it from the already on-edge industry. This will result in better customer-to- agent relationships and give the client the one-on-one attention they need. GUTA feels that by having communication on a more personal level with clients, we can focus more on what they want and ultimately find what fits them best.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
