Getz 1 Jacob Getz Professor Smith December 13, 2011 Expository Writing Cover Letter To Whom It May Concern: “I'm not a very good writer, but I'm an excellent rewriter” (James Michener). The quote above pretty much summarizes my Expository Writing career in one semester. I have really surprised myself this semester both as a writer and as person. I have learned that a writing course in college was a lot more work than I expected it to be and I am very proud of myself for making it through the course successfully. I have learned that writing is not something that one can study for; instead, it is something that has to come naturally as long as there is a passion for the topic at hand. I am not saying that I enjoyed every writing assignment, but I did learn a lot from each one, and as a result improved tremendously. For my ungraded essay I decided to write a persuasive piece titled “Sex Before Marriage”, which talked about whether or not people should abstain from having sex until marriage.
