Non-associative learning is… o Habituation= less attention and sensitization= paying more attention Associative learning is… o Two types of Associative Learning Classical Conditioning: o Components: US, UR, NS, CS, CR o Extinction, spontaneous recovery, stimulus generalization, stimulus discrimination o Conditioned emotional responses (Little Albert- white rats/Little Peter) Operant Conditioning o Law of Effect (Thorndike) o Consequences of behavior: positive/negative reinforcement; positive/negative punishment o Extinction-intital responding increase elevator button, spontaneous recovery, generalization, discrimination o Timing of the consequence: immediate vs. delayed- might be thought of as something good was being punished.
