Why do human beings differ in their beliefs and behaviors? Culture- created through ascribed meanings of their own creation to objects. o Members of a society view the world in a similar way because they share  the same culture, likewise, when they share the same meanings they give  to experiences, they participate in the same culture. o Culture is a variation in the meanings people assign to events such as  death, birth, finding food and shelter, etc. o Clifford Geertz- said human beings are compelled to impose meaning on  their experiences because without these meanings to help them  comprehend experience and impose order on the universe, the world  would seem a “chaos of pointless acts and exploding emotions” Described human beings as “incomplete of unfinished animals who complete themselves through specific forms of culture. The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
