Assignment 1: Computer Memory Hacking Robert Downs Professor CIS 106 February 10, 2015 Technology continues to evolve at an exponential rate. With that being said these technological advancements continue to pose a threat to both individuals and information resources of companies and governments. I truly believe there is a need to protect one’s data and information due to the emerging threats and risks. Computer memory hacking happens when third parties create a backdoor version of a hardware and software so as to manipulate or unlock hidden functionality on a machine. Unfortunately most of these hacks are open source and free software. This type of hacking manipulates the firmware update option on many devices to run and install themselves.
