In class this week, the discussion of sports as impactful on society hit home with  me. There are far more aspects to the impact of sports, however, than were discussed in  class, and it is as a result of the far-reaching changes in aspects of society caused by  sports that renders it such an important field of study for journalists especially, since we  are the people tasked with documenting societal shifts. It may sound heavy-handed to speak of sports in such elevated terms, but for  anyone with any tie to the city of Cleveland, we’ve seen firsthand the great impact that a  sporting event can have on the economic well being of a major city. Granted, the  economic fragility of Cleveland, along with the rest of the rust belt, has been well  documented and should come as a shock to no one. That being said, the decision of one  man in 2010 had devastating effects on Cleveland’s economy. LeBron James, while his  professional motivations for leaving the Cavaliers for the Miami Heat may have been  valid, embodied in his choice to leave Cleveland for more fruitful pastures a trend that  has seen the city on steady economic decline since manufacturing in America became  obsolete. When the manufacturing sector of the American economy began to be

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
