Perhaps the most ever-present theme throughout the first half of class is the theme of  change:  all of our respective fields are changing, becoming multi-faceted, and are  beginning to require each of us to be able to effectively complete tasks over a wide array  of disciplines. Dean Wilson said himself during the previous lecture, we have to become  disruptive to our fields, learn to change and adapt before even the field does, and create  new aspects of our fields ourselves. But, why does it all have to change? In print journalism, the field I am and always have been interested in, change has come so rapidly and so completely that writers like myself feel left in the dark. While the world of journalism will always need writers—of that I have no doubt—the skillset of writing  alone has become quasi-useless, as stated in a number of the lectures and discussions  we’ve had, or at least so I’ve understood. Writers have to know how to take and edit

What students are saying

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
