Patricia Ade Eco 2023 04/13/08 Essay#3 Consumerism may be defined in two different ways. Some may consider consumerism as a movement that is set to protect consumers from false advertising, misleading products, wrong pricing, etc… Others see consumerism as the ideal we of expanding the economy. Whichever way we may see will always come down to these three most important economic consequences of consumerism: environmental consequences, equity and social values. Environmental Consequences are found through out the world. We consume so many unnecessary items that we have come to stage where now we are depleting our resources and degrading our environment. The demand for more resources every day equals to the many problems that are occurring in our climate. We are faced with air and water pollution. We loose biodiversity and acidifation. We worry about what’s new in fashion, what car is coming with new gadgets, what playstation is going to come out next, but yet we never we don’t think about
