Brief psychotic disorder(reactive psychosis) o 0 days-1 month o Some get better after a month Schizophreniform disorder o 1 month-6 months o If still Schizo after 6 months, get diagnosed as 5 Types of Schizophrenia o Paranoid type(most common) Looks like bi-polar disorder “high functioning” Symptoms-psychiatric(hallucinations, delusions, etc) (Positive Symptoms Predominate) Onset-acute o Unindifferentiated type Mixture of symptoms May hear voices, have absurd conversations Onset-varies o Catatonic type 2 Distinctions Stuperous-not very responsive to world o Waxy flexibility Excited-VERY excited and out of control may be caused by certain stimuli 1
