Catching Up With WSC’s Rugby Cats Wayne State’s men ruggers traveled to Omaha for their last game and it’s safe to say they came home satisfied and eager to continue their journey towards a championship. The Wildcats played Creighton on their home field and brought the “House of Pain” all the way from Wayne, defeating the Blue Jays 64-7. In the coming weekend our ruggers will travel to Arkansas to play John Brown University and Pittsburgh State. The Lady Cats took a trip across the Missouri to Ames, IA, last weekend for a match against the Iowa State Cyclones. The game was simply for the sake of playing and enjoying a weekend of rugby in-between cup matches. The D-1 college provided a challenge for our

The final score game to 30-10 and coach Darrin Barner is happy with that. “These guys are a big school…the fact that we hung in there and played at their level says a lot. Now we know where we need to work to see success in our playoff games.” Both teams hear the clock ticking on their season in the background as we inch closer to November and playoff games.
