During theRevolutionthe church as a separatesocialorganization was demolished and the familyunderwent modification, while the state triumphed at their expense” (Nisbet, Robert A.“The French Revolution and the Rise of Sociology in France: American Journal of Sociology)
The Industrial RevolutionDuring The Industrial Revolution, people abandoned their life inagriculture and moved to cities to find factory jobs. With this new lifecame long work hours, harsh conditions, and all for a low pay. While theIndustrial Revolution increased the material wealth it also helped withcreate the modern world view through the use of science andtechnology. The Industrial Revolution challenged more traditional ways and openedthe door for democratic changes.
