MKTG 371 January 23, 2008 I. Assignment Reviews -both are due at the beginning of class on the day that it’s due First Assignment Go out and observe consumers and write about it. We want to know why people are doing what they’re doing, in regards to our observations. For example, one option is to go to In N Out or KFC and observe the actual physical atmosphere: customers, employees, visuals, etc. Second Assignment We look at brand image to see why people are motivated to buy in terms of how they perceive something. Why do people go crazy for In N out but not McDonalds: it’s all about the brand perception. Topics (product categories) are picked by students. Consumer Behavior I. Fundamentals of Marketing a. Exchange b. Applies to products, services, people, places, concepts c. Marketing manager needs to know how much you’re willing to pay for product so we can make the best possible money d. Shift from production orientation to consumer oritentation i. If our product sucks, we will only be able to sell it a few times.
