Theatrical Space Used: Reinbolt Theatre The play takes place during the early 1920’s Spatial Requirements- All three actors need ample space to move around freely. There should be enough room to comfortably accommodate for Mrs. Hardwicke-Moore, Mrs. Wire and the writer simultaneously, but at the same time, the stage should not look empty when there are only two actors on stage. Mrs. Hardwicke-Moore: will require quite a bit of room to move around. Mrs. Wire: will require an equally large amount of space for their confrontation. The writer: requires very little room, as he is, for the most part, reserved during the quarrel. Socio-Economic Conditions- The gap between the super wealthy and the extremely poor was beginning to grow rapidly by this time. Eventually the gap contributed to the Great Depression towards the end of the 1920’s. Only a small percentage of Americans were rich, the rest of the population was mostly comprised of lower- middle class and the impoverished.
