Mohamed El habhab 11-21-16 3rd hour Holes,Louis Sachar, mystery novel Pgs 233, August 20, 1998 Holes (1)This novel takes place in Texas, in 1998, in a dried up lake where their is nothing but dry land. The officers drive cars and some of them ride horses so that they can bring water and accessories for the inmates. “ The truck went faster and faster across the dry lake bed. It bounced over a pile of dirt. Suddenly Stanley was slammed forward, then instantly backward as an airbag exploded in his face”(Sachar 148). (2)The main character a 18 year old male named Stanley Yelnats, is a well behaved and caring young adult, that loves his friends and his family and is a responsible person. Stanley likes playing baseball, school, and his family and he cares alot for those three things. Stanley dislikes rude people, thiefs, and the food at the camp. (3)Zero a 16 year old male, is a inmate with Stanley. Zero is the one who put Stanley in jail by accident but stanley doesn’t know that. Zero is short, has puffy hair, and isn’t so bright.
