8391261.1The Not So Open RoadIt was the 4th of November, 2019, and the day every teenager dreams of, theday I was going to get my driver's license. I was ecstatic and could not wait forschool to get out so I could go to the DMV with my mom. I had completed all thenecessary requirements to obtain my driver's license. I had even sacrificed threeweeks of my summer vacation getting up at 5:00 a.m. to attend driver's educationclasses so that I could get my license as close to my sixteenth birthday as possible. However, none of that mattered now. All the sacrifice was going to be worth it as in amatter of hours; I was going to have the freedom of the open road and be able to gowhere I wanted when I wanted, or so I thought. When my mom picked me up fromschool, she informed me that she and my dad had been discussing me getting mylicense and what she was about to tell me would make me reach my boiling point ina way both literally and figuratively that I had never done before.
