Stephanie Warner Butzer PHL 101 A 12 April 2007 CMR Paper In the case of Mr. Pollack and his two young teenage girls being married to men over twice their age, they should have been arrested and put in jail. This is because although America is a land of the free and people should be able to practice their religions freely too, there are also rules and laws that everyone has to abide by when living in this country. America does need to be sensitive to the other religions immigrants are now bringing into this country, but those immigrants need to be taught more clearly on what our countries rules are here. America has core values that should be protected, such as liberty for women and children. This means that we should not make exceptions to other cultures beliefs if it is sacrificing freedom for women and children. When an immigrant decides to live here in America, that immigrant is agreeing to abide by the American way of living. Even if this means sacrificing some of their old country practices, then so be it.
