Unformatted text preview: Warner 1 Stephanie Warner English 112 Kim Perkins 23 January 2006 Story Time When I was a little girl story time was one of my favorite things. My mom would always read me a bedtime story every night. I could not go to sleep unless I got a story read to me. We did not have very many books when I was little. We only had about twenty or so Little Golden Books, so I would pick out one of those and my mother would read it to me. All of the books that I listen to we had read hundreds of times already, but I would still want to keep reading them. They never got old. I remember for my second birthday I got the Dr. Susess ABCs book. This book became one of my first favorite books. I had mom read the ABC book to me so many times that I could recite it word for word to her. As I got older I eventually began to read books on my own. My mom said I picked up reading pretty quickly. At first I would read books to my mom at night before I went to bed. She would help me sound out words but I was basically reading the books without her help.
